Virtual Tasting with Cabernet August 15Regular price $150.00
Join us and Carlton McCoy, MS and CEO of Heitz Cellar, on August 15th from 3:30pm to 5pm for a rare glimpse into some Cabernet that Matt made in very small quantities during his career.
This tasting celebrates the changing face of Napa Cabernet (price includes shipping):
- 2015 Chamboulé Cabernet Sauvignon Constant Vineyard, Diamond Mountain
- 2016 Chamboulé Cabernet Sauvignon Constant Vineyard, Diamond Mountain
- 2017 Chamboulé Cabernet Franc Caldwell Vineyard, Coombsville
When we think of Napa Cabernet and what we love to drink, more often than not we seek out the bottlings of the 70s and 80s (and 60s, when you can find them). There are a handful of producers we feel understand the delicate balance in making Bordeaux-based wines from the Napa Valley, and even fewer that are able to attain structure while retaining elegance and balance.
These wines, all made by Matt from a sold-out label called Chamboulé, were some of his first iterations into achieving this delicate balance of structure and elegance, all while using 100% whole cluster and very little sulfur. They are the inception for his return to Napa and joining Carlton in the creation of a new project focused on creating Bordeaux-based wines of balance.
Carlton will moderate the tasting and strive to get the whole story of these wines and help answer any questions you may have. Join us on August 15 for our third and most likely last virtual tasting. (Hello, harvest!)
