2024 Pineau d'Aunis, Mammoth Rock Vineyard
- In stock, ready to ship

A little wild and deeply aromatic. Built almost entirely around Pineau d’Aunis, with small amounts of Grolleau and Cabernet Franc co-fermented alongside it, this wine captures another side of Mammoth Rock: floral, spiced and peppery, with purple fruit and layers that continue to shift in the glass.
Winemaking Notes:
100% Whole Cluster and fermented indigenously in a concrete tank. Pressed gently and put into neutral Demi-muid/228L barrels for 2+ years Sur lie. Bottled with minimal sulfur addition just prior to bottling and unfined/unfiltered.
Vintage Notes:
2023 was an exceptionally cool and mild growing season at Mammoth Rock, extending the ripening window across the vineyard. Pineau d’Aunis ripened later than Gamay, coming in around the same time as Chenin Blanc. That long season suits the character Matt is finding in the wine: aromatic, layered and distinctly expressive of the cool West Sonoma Coast.
